POE Mid-Atlantic Students Rally for George Mason Men’s Basketball!
November 21, 2017
Carol Ann Smallwood

On Saturday night, November 18th, POE Mid-Atlantic grads, current students and mentors gathered at a George Mason basketball game versus Cal State at Northridge. One of our mentors, Mary Asel, who knows the Mason coach, acquired incredibly great seats a few rows behind the Mason team bench. The game was a barn burner going back and forth the entire time. With 14 seconds left, the Patriots tied it to put the game into overtime. The Patriots then proceeded to hit 8 straight free-throws and beat the Matadors 78-73! We had 2 grads and 9 students attend and it was a blast hearing about everyone’s semesters and jobs. Go Patriots!
